BitImporter Privacy Policy
Effective October 10, 2026. This policy covers BitImporter for Mac.
Apple Music access
With your permission, BitImporter uses Apple’s MusicKit to search the music catalog, read playlists and playlist folders needed for imports, and create playlists and a BitImporter folder in your library. Search terms, catalog identifiers, playlist names, descriptions, and playlist requests are sent directly to Apple. BitImporter does not operate an intermediary server.
Apple manages music authorization and tokens. BitImporter does not ask for or store your Apple account password. Apple’s handling of requests is governed by Apple’s privacy policy.
Information kept on your Mac
Track lists and artwork are read from the files you choose. A local import history stores playlist names, song identifiers, import dates, import identifiers, and created playlist identifiers to help prevent duplicate imports. Exported packages can contain the playlist name, description, song entries, and artwork you choose to export.
No developer tracking
The current app contains no advertising, developer analytics, tracking, or developer-operated crash reporting services. BitImporter does not send your track lists or import history to Bitvellum. Apple may separately provide diagnostics according to the sharing choices in your system settings.
AI prompts
BitImporter can prepare a prompt for you to copy into an AI service you choose. BitImporter does not transmit the prompt to an AI service. If you paste it elsewhere, that service’s privacy policy applies.
Support and this website
If you email Bitvellum, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send, and use it to respond to your request. Do not send passwords or authorization tokens. Our website is hosted by Vercel, which may process standard request logs, including IP addresses, to operate and secure the site. The website does not include advertising trackers or analytics scripts.
Direct website purchases
Stripe processes website payments and may collect your email address, billing information, and payment details. Bitvellum receives order and payment status information but does not receive your full card number. We use purchase information to provide downloads, assist with orders, and meet accounting obligations. A necessary, signed browser cookie stores a purchase reference for 30 days; it is not used for tracking or advertising. Each download is checked against Stripe’s payment status. Read Stripe’s privacy policy for Stripe’s handling of payment information.
Your choices and retention
You choose the files to import and when to create or export playlists. Music access can be revoked in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Media & Apple Music. Playlists already created in your Apple Music library remain there and can be managed or deleted in Music. The local import history remains on your Mac until removed; exported files can be deleted in Finder. Contact us to request deletion of information you sent by email. Apple’s data is subject to Apple’s retention policies.
Changes to this policy
We will update the effective date when this policy changes. Changes will be posted on this page.
